Frequently Asked Questions regarding remixit Custom Session Tracks & Mixing Services

Custom Session Tracks

What do I need to get started?
A simple MP3 stereo mix of your song minus the instrument you want us to record for you. Plus the temp of the song.

Should my file include a version of what I want you to play?
We prefer to record to a track without the instrument on it but please send us an extra track with your guide track included to help give us a better idea of what you are after.

How do you record your tracks?
We record using high quality microphones and preamps to ensure the highest quality recording possible for your project.

Will your files be compatible with my DAW?
We can supply files in a variety of bit depth and quality to match your existing project files. All files will be in WAV format and should be compatible with all DAW's.

How do I pay?
We accept payment via paypal. Once you are happy with your track we will e-mail you a link to enable you to pay for your tracks. Upon receipt of the payment we will get your files ready for download. We will send you a link to enable you to download the files.

How do I send you my files?
If it is a small stereo MP3 file you can simply e-mail it to us. For larger files we use a service called www.yousendit.com. Once you have made initial contact and filled out a submission form we will contact you giving you instructions on sending us your files.

How long does it take to complete my tracks.
We work on a "as submitted basis" so we complete them in the order they were sent to us. We can normally turn around stuff in 3-5 days though.

Mixing Tracks

I use protools  - so can I send you my protools session?
Sure - we will work from your session and if you wish send you your session back afterwards including all the session data.

I don't use protools  - can you still mix my work?
Sure - we will need all of your project files as seperate wav files all starting from 0 in your project. This way we can import them into  a protools session and all of the tracks will be in time with each other.

How do I send my session files to you?
To transfer large session files we use a service called www.yousendit.com. Once you have filled in a submission form we will contact you with details of how to send us your files.

Can I send you my files via the post?
Sure - let us know if you want to send your files this way and we will give you our address to send them to. We can also send you your final files via the post on a cd if you wish, but there will be a small charge for packing and postage.

How long will it take to mix my project?
Your project will usually be mixed within 14 days of receipt. If you require a faster turnaround please let us know and we shall see what we can do.

Some of my session files are of poor quality - can you still help me?
The quality of the material you give us will have a large bearing on the end results but we should still be able to make your mix sound much better even if you have a few tracks that you are worried about.

I have some specific things I would like you to do in the mix, can you do these for me?
Of course, the more information you give us about what you want your final mix to sound like the better. Please give us as much detail as you can regarding specific effects etc.

I have more than one track that requires mixing - do I get a discount?
Depending on the quantity and type of project, talk to us and we can sort out a deal.
